Abstract:
The essays collected in this volume examine the role of geography in the literary imagination and within cultural contexts, focusing on specific regions—from the mines of West Germany to the lands of Bukovina–Galicia, and the tributaries of the Danube—in dialogue with key theoretical contributions from spatial, ecological, and environmental studies. By analyzing how these areas have shaped literary production and, in turn, have been configured through it, the book proposes a reorganization of literary historiography, demonstrating that geographical space is a dynamic and evolving outcome of the interaction between nature, society, and the imagination.
