Syllabus

Course Objectives

At the end of the course, the student will have acquired baseline knowledges on specific topics of group psychology. Moreover, the students will have deepened their knowledge on psychosocial processes at kindergarden, such as: the role of the family as a place for the construction of culture; the kindergarden as place for developing social skills.

Teaching Methods

Lectures; group work; videos and group discussion

Assessment Methods

Written examination, with 20 close-ended questions (1 point for each correct answer), one open-ended question, for 60 minutes. Attending and non-attending students will take the same exam. Students will be emailed about the results via UniBg platform


Contents

During the course, we will explore some psychosocial themes such as:
History of social psychology
The self in a social world
Attitudes and behaviours
Conformism and obedience
Group dynamics
Prejudice
Aggressivity
Conflict and its resolution
Moreover, we will discuss some social psychological themes applied to early childhood.
