The healthcare sector is one of the most significant economic sectors globally, both in terms of its size and the substantial resources it absorbs, both public and private. Health policies profoundly impact quality of life, economic efficiency, and social equity. This course will provide students with a critical understanding of economic concepts applied to the health sector, analyzing healthcare policies, health markets, and economic challenges in healthcare. Students will learn how health policies influence supply and demand in healthcare and how to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of healthcare systems.

Global Health, Risky Behaviors, and the Future of Healthcare
Global challenges, public health, risky health behaviors (smoking, alcohol, obesity), technological innovations, and changes in healthcare systems.
