Syllabus

Course Objectives

The Special Pedagogy 1B module in conjunction with the Special Pedagogy 1A module makes up the teaching of SPECIAL PEDAGOGY. I.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING

At the end of the module the student will know the theoretical, diagnostic and intervention models related to the various types of disabilities, with particular reference to intervention strategies in the case of disabled adults and older people, and the person aging with a disability, analyzed in their relationship with the processes of education and training, in the perspective of an inclusive pedagogy. The students will have acquired theoretical and operational awareness with different models of relationship and care, as well as the different assistive technologies to support work inclusion.

ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING

At the end of the module, the student will be able to apply the acquired knowledge, the observation, planning and intervention strategies that are most appropriate in relation to the specific health conditions and the social context of reference. They will also have achieved awareness of the complexity and modalities of teamwork and its professional multidimensionality.

Course Prerequisites

There are no formal prerequisites for teaching. Knowledge
of the founding concepts of General Pedagogy is, however, of support to
the full understanding of the proposed content.

Teaching Methods

The lessons will be frontal, with attention to both the full exploration of
theoretical constructs and the support of experiential activities, through
the use of film materials, exemplification and testing of operational tools,
contacts with local representatives of the social community engaged in
the areas of reference.
Proposals for in-depth study by students will be welcomed within the
overall teaching program.

Assessment Methods

Reflective feedback, during and at the conclusion of each lesson and accompanying cooperative work, will be used for ongoing monitoring of the student learning process.

The test will consist of: 1) a written test (multiple choice test - 20 questions for 20 minutes) related to the contents of the texts of the institutional part, provided in the bibliography; 2) a subsequent written test (intended only for students who have passed the test 1 - 45 minutes), relating to the contents of all the texts listed in the bibliography and consisting of n. 2 open questions with argumentative answers.

The slides and didactic materials available on the teaching page are considered an integral part of the course. Those who have a "Special Pedagogy" exam for 12 CFU in their study plan must take the two modules in the same call. The final grade will be the average of the grade obtained in Module 1A and the grade obtained in Module 1B.

AT THE EXAMINATION IT IS NECESSARY THAT THE STUDENTS BRING THE STUDYED TEXTS WITH THEM in order to encourage conversation around the topics covered

FOR ALL STUDENTS, the evaluation criteria will concern: - the exhaustiveness of the knowledge achieved around each of the proposed themes; - the correctness of the specific language of the scientific domain; - the correctness of the exposition in terms of logical, syntactic and grammatical construction.

Contents

The various types of disabilities, with particular reference to their expression in adulthood and the elderly.

More information

- Students with PDP and PEI may eventually ask to take the exam in different modalities (if this is provided for in their planning document). Any variation must however be discussed with the teacher of the course. Please also note that in the case of the use of concept maps (provided only for those who are allowed to use them) it is necessary to send them to the teacher at least one week before the exam in order to obtain approval.

- For the student workers not attending the course, a Distance Learning (FAD) system will be activated. The procedure to take part in the FAD system will be presented in the first lesson of the course or upon contact with the teacher.

- For Erasmus students it is possible to agree the exam program upon a meeting with the teacher.

- Changes in methods and tools could be introduced in the Syllabus in case of blended or remote teaching.
