This course will equip students with the tools they need to deal with these challenges so that they can develop skills that they can draw on during the interaction. With this in mind, students will be exposed to case studies, research applications, and strategies to develop an understanding of the communication processes necessary to avoid misunderstandings. The importance of using English as a lingua franca is also taken into consideration and its influence on the linguistic and textual realizations at an international level.
