Course Objectives

To acquire an adequate knowledge of the major events and the main dynamics of twentieth-century world history, with particular reference to the major themes of historiographical research on the subject: sources, periodisation, memory, colonialism and imperialism, mass nationalism, war, totalitarianism, economic development, cold war, globalization.

Course Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of the principal events of recent times which can be acquired using a good secondary school textbook.

Assessment Methods

The exam is done through a final written exam 60 minutes. The written exam consists of two open questions (each corresponding to 10 points) and 10 multiple choice questions (1 point per correct answer).
