The exam consists of an oral examination. The grade is expressed as a mark out of thirty.

The oral examination consists of 3 questions concerning the exam bibliography aimed at assessing knowledge of the course content. Any research projects carried out during the course will be part of the examination assessment (for attending students only).

The final mark will take into consideration: depth of knowledge; coherence of the discursive articulation, and ability to express themselves appropriately; ability to develop a personal and critical point of view on the topics of the course.

Contents

The philosophy of education is constituted as a critical, interpretive and reflective knowledge able to found the pedagogical discourse. The course will illustrate some theoretical, cultural and philosophical perspectives characterizing the issues related to educational processes, pointing out its problematic articulation, but also its importance in complex contemporary societies.

Every formation story unfolds not only in time, but also in space. Indeed, there is a profound relationship between living environments and subjectivity, between forms of the world and forms of culture and society, between existential places and the free development of human relationships.

The course is focused on the practice of walking as a symbolic form that enabled humans to inhabit the world. Philosophy understood as the interrogation of experience and existence was born and raised in the streets of the polis. But walking practice also marks the religious, aesthetic, social and political experience, thus becoming a significant educational and self-educational experience, a practice of interpreting and knowing places.
