Course Objectives

The course contributes to the achievement of the educational objectives of the study in Human Movement and Sport Sciences by providing students with the theoretical and operational tools necessary to be able to read and know consciously the links between the training system and sports practice. In fact, we will work on the formative and educational value of sports activity starting from the pedagogical knowledge and models of development of the concept of body and corporeity, thanks to the evolution that educational thought has known in relation to the movement, to play and sport. In addition, the course will allow students to know the value and role of the educational relationship, with its application in training and sports; at the end of the course, the students will be able to develop relational educational practices in both individual and group settings. Based on the acquisition of these skills, students will be able to operate in the professional field, with particular reference to the management of the educational relationship, the design and implementation of environments, and training courses that consider the person in his entirety.

Course Prerequisites

None

Teaching Methods

Dialogue lessons with presentations in Power Point, film sequences and pedagogical reflections on case studies and sports projects in the social field.
The slides and materials used during the lessons will be published on the MOODLE platform.

Assessment Methods

Feedback during and at the end of each lesson will be used for constant monitoring of the student’s teaching/learning process. There will be a final exam, in which the student will demonstrate the knowledge of the subject of study and the ability to critically argue and explain what they learned from the classroom activities and the reading of the exam texts.

The exam consists of a written test divided into two parts: the first part consists of 9 multiple choice questions (value= 1 point each) and and 3 open-ended questions (value= 3 points each), aimed at ascertaining the knowledge of the topics of the course and their correct understanding; in the second part, the student will have to carry out the written and argued analysis of an educational situation to verify the ability to read educational contexts (value= 12 points).

The time available for the final exam is 90 minutes. These are the evaluation criteria: 1) to respond in a pertinent and accurate manner and within the set time; 2) to articulate a coherent and cohesive discourse at the semantic, syntactic, and orthographic level; 3) to analyze the assigned case in a correct and precise manner, through pedagogical categories studied during the course.

For attending students, it is possible to anticipate in the classroom to a small group the analysis of an educational situation agreed with the teacher. Those who have made such a presentation will make only the first part of the exam.

The evaluation is out of thirty. The exam results are communicated directly to the student (at his/her institutional e-mail address) through the information platform of the University.
