The student will acquire knowledge of the fundamental concepts and laws of Classical Mechanics and Thermodynamics. They will learn to formalize these laws into equations that govern the behavior of simple mechanical and thermodynamic systems, solving proposed problems based on the data provided. They will critically develop the analysis of results, verifying their consistency through dimensional analysis and their self-consistency in numerical terms.
Basic knowledge of physical quantities and units of measurement, fundamentals of vector calculus, and understanding of derivative and integral operations.
The course includes:
Learning is achieved in part through the student’s active participation during lessons, regular study, and personal (re)working of examples and exercises, whose solutions are essential for a deep understanding of the subject
The assessment of required knowledge acquisition will take place through a written examination and (if applicable) an oral examination.
If the written examination is passed with a score above 21, the oral examination is considered optional.
Those who have not passed and recorded their OFA requirements are not permitted to take the exam.
