Syllabus

Course Objectives

Within the general objectives of the Master’s degree program, the course aims to achieve the following general goals:


  • Knowledge and understanding: to acquire in-depth knowledge of the functioning of groups and organizations, as well as the intra- and inter-organizational processes typical of service organizations;
  • Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: to develop skills in understanding and applying key theoretical and methodological frameworks related to human resource management, organizational processes and dynamics, and mechanisms of connection, integration, and coordination.


Specifically, the course intends to:


  • provide students with detailed and comprehensive theoretical and conceptual frameworks useful for analyzing and understanding organizational processes typical of complex organizations;
  • develop a thorough knowledge of the fundamental components involved in orchestrating internal and external resources;
  • equip students with guidelines and reference tools for applying key methodologies and effective instruments in managing intra- and inter-organizational processes.

Teaching Methods

The teaching activities are structured to integrate lectures, case analyses, and reflections on experiential situations. Additionally, exercises, simulations, and contributions from external experts are planned.


Assessment Methods

The evaluation consists of a final oral exam, based on the following criteria:


  • articulation and quality of formal knowledge and specialized terminology;
  • ability to connect theory and practice;
  • critical thinking skills.

Specifically, for attending students, the assessment will also include participation in exercises and group presentations of articles conducted during the course. The evaluation criteria for these students will focus on the acquisition of core content, critical thinking skills, and the ability to connect the content of the assigned texts with the material covered during the course activities.


For non-attending students, the evaluation will focus on the preparation and understanding of the assigned bibliographic materials, assessing the acquisition of core content, critical analysis, and the ability to make associations and connections among the various topics covered.


Contents

The course will specifically address the following topics: a historical and evolutionary overview of organizational and institutional contexts; human resource management, group dynamics, and organizational processes; theoretical and practical aspects of management; processes of collaboration and interprofessional work.
