Course Objectives

At the end of the course the student will know the main historical and epistemological dimensions of the pedagogy of work and will be able to:
- understand the educational potential of the pedagogical principle of school-work alternation.
- Know the specific topic of school-work alternation, the limits and the potential of his diffusion in the education and training system of our country and in the productive processes of companies.
- Handle the tools for observation, classification and pedagogical interpretation of work processes in different organizational contexts.
- Recognize in the apprenticeship of I and III level the paradigmatic pedagogical place of declination of the formative alternation in general and of the school-work alternation in particular, also through the study of concrete cases.
Furthermore, the student will be able to consciously and critically use the texts presented in class (scientific literature) and to identify and analyze the issues and educational problems presented.
He will be able to handle some theoretical paradigms related to the pedagogy of work that may be useful in the future for the conception, planning and evaluation of educational interventions in professional organizational contexts.

Teaching Methods

Lessons would organize in modules lasting three hours, articulated in frontal lecture and in workshops, in which the students are called to reflect on situations/cases concerning educational and professional issues typical of different educational work environments,to carry out problem solving activities, to report orally and in writing on what emerged from group work, to confront teachers and classmates with respect to the issues discussed to stimulate the development of individual and relational skills, autonomy of judgment, communication skills and the learning ability. Furthermore, it will also be possible to formulate in-depth proposals on current issues related to the topics of the course.

The course also offers an innovative teaching route (of 9 hours) based on the flipped classroom methodology, which directly involves students in activities and collaboration, starting from the previously unused study and using telematics tools

Assessment Methods

Thoughtful feedback during and at the end of every lecture and workshop would use for a fixed monitoring of the students’ teaching/learning process.
Students’ knowledge and skills would be checked through an oral test. It will be assessed the knowledge of the topics, the level of critical and personal in-depth study and communication skills. for attending students.

Contents

Firstly the course, assuming a conception of education based on the integrated personal exercise of intentionality, lógos, freedom and responsibility, aims to address the issue of formative alternation in a theoretical key, analyzing the epistemological, psychological, cultural constraints, institutional and legal systems that hinder the greater diffusion of this methodological-didactic practice in our country, both in schools, in companies, and in the same social dynamic. Then, we will proceed to deepen the current legislation on the subject, discussing it from a pedagogical point of view. Finally, we will analyze paradigmatic paths of training alternation, also starting from the experience of working students, to highlight concrete aspects and dynamics and foundational paradigms of pedagogy of work.
