ECONOMICS AND DATA ANALYSIS - 149-R-EN/Economics Year: 1
Year:
2025
This course aims to present the role of firms’ choices and imperfectly competitive markets for private and social decisions. Particular attention is devoted to the internet market, the role of networks, and the behavior of the platforms. The goal is to maintain a high level of rigor in the models while motivating the analysis with real-world examples, thereby establishing a connection between theory and practice. The target audience of this Industrial Organization (IO) course is advanced Bachelor's or Master's students, with an intermediate background in Microeconomics and IO.
No mandatory requirements. The Industrial Organization and Microeconomics course is strongly recommended.
Frontal class and student presentations
Written exam in two parts. Part A: short technical question (e.g. numerical exercise). Part B: open questions on some topics in the program. Students' presentations will contribute to the final grade if the class is not too large.
