Lectures + practical exercises
Oral exam and report on practical activities.
The course delves into motion control in industrial settings, analyzing the main configurations for generating motion profiles and managing motion control in industrial applications.
Application examples of flexible mechatronic solutions will be presented, highlighting their advantages and potential.
PLCOpen will be introduced as a reference standard for motion management and configuration in industrial environments. The course will explore the main functionalities offered by this standard for controlling multi-axis systems, through practical examples.
The course will also demonstrate the integration of motion control systems with fieldbuses, essential for ensuring reliable and efficient communication between controllers, drives, and sensors.
Specifically, the CANOpen and EtherCAT protocols will be covered, analyzing their characteristics and use in controlling industrial drives. Through practical exercises, students will learn how to configure and utilize these protocols within motion control systems.
The hands-on activities will be conducted using Codesys, one of the most widely used software platforms for developing industrial applications, allowing students to concretely apply the theoretical concepts covered in the course.
