At the end of the course, students will have gained an understanding of the legal issues surrounding the implementation of new technologies in production contexts. The course will consist of lectures aimed at clarifying the legal framework and the issues involved, including through educational seminars with the participation of experts in the field. During the course, seminars with practical exercises will be organised for attending students, focusing on the analysis of measures and specific cases and aimed at helping students understand them, including through the use of the latest technologies. In order to better structure these seminars, the lecturer will identify the topics related to the issues covered during the lecture cycle that are of greatest interest, involving students through a learning on demand discussion model.
The exam is oral and the assessment is expressed as a mark out of 30, with honours. The criteria for assessing the oral exam take into account the accuracy of the content, the clarity of the argument and the ability to analyse critically and rework the material.
In order to pass the exam, students must be able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of social security law and the institutions that make up the system. Based on this knowledge, students are required to form reasoned opinions on the evolution of legislation, case law and application practices.
The course is dedicated to exploring the relationship between labour law and new technologies. In particular, the following topics will be covered: the relationship between labour law and technological innovation, the powers of employers with the use of algorithms and artificial intelligence systems, work monitoring through new technologies and the protection of confidentiality, artificial intelligence and employee duties, and platform work.
