Syllabus

Course Objectives

At the end of the workshop, the student will have achieved the following objectives and acquired the following skills

  • to know the Accademia Carrara, its history and its collections;
  • to know the museum institution in its essential functions (conservation, scientific and educational) and the museum professions;
  • to understand the mechanisms, stages, actors and aims of cultural design;
  • to develop awareness of the social role of the museum and some key functions.

Teaching Methods

Lectures and workshops, also at the Museum premises; meetings with experts and professionals.

E' previsto il riconoscimento di un'idoneità, a fronte della presenza alle attività.


Contents

The workshop, led by professionals from the Accademia Carrara di Bergamo, explores through an interdisciplinary approach the museum professions: curatorship and conservation; education and mediation; communication and marketing. Entering the complex museum machine, we learn about the mechanisms of cultural design, dwelling on the role that each sector plays in the construction of a proposal designed for different audiences.
