Abstract:
The concept of limit has been a challenge for mankind and for art since ever (Dante’s Ulysses, discovery, the unknown, the Avant-garde…), but it can be that nowadays, on the one hand everything was taken to the edge of use and nature, on the other now it means something else to confront the limit again, since it is not anymore about the idea of limitless, of infinity, of invisible, the thought of testing something, of deconstructing, of going further, of looking further…
It’s therefore about the limit in more ways than one, relating to all the possible areas. All the issues are therefore studied in terms of limit.
And what about art? Is it a separate matter? Is it somewhere where you’re allowed to do something that is usually considered out of the edge? It is still the experience of the limit or the stretch of it, as it was for the Avant-gardes.
Moreover: abstraction, camouflage, the intangible, the formless, the virtual, the image itself, or more than one images, the piece, many pieces… all put to the test of limits.
