abstract:
The request for educational professional skills, qualified and able to operate in different contexts, has marked for some years an expansion and a growth of interest, both internationally and nationally. In Italy, the recent approval of some legislative measures has introduced a certain amount of innovations and the role and the social function of the professional socio-pedagogical educator has become a topic of discussion. The article, after some brief comparative references and a look at the Italian national context, including some quantitative data on the number of graduates in Educational Sciences and their employment status, aims to provide food for thought and discussion on the issues that remain still open and unresolved today.
