(2018). "How to reshore": Some evidence from the apparel industry [journal article - articolo]. In IEEE ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT REVIEW.. Retrieved from http://hdl.handle.net/10446/133916
Abstract:
The reshoring phenomenon is gaining momentum among scholars, managers, and policy makers. Extant literature has mainly focused on reshoring motivations, drivers, locations, and activities. Reshoring decision-making and implementation processes are relatively unexplored, leaving managers without any support when they are called on to implement reshoring decisions. This paper sheds light on reshoring decision-making and implementation processes and provides some practical guidelines for managers. Some of our empirical evidence shows that the process tends to be cyclical, made of trial and error loops with no clear separation from decision-making and implementation. This process risks overlooking some important variables. In this respect, we provide managers with a list of important areas to consider during the reshoring decision-making and implementation process.
