Abstract:
Chapter objectives
• To provide an introduction to the features of non-probabilistic sampling and how it differs from probabilistic sampling
• To discuss quota sampling and purposive sampling, how they are used and the importance of transparency in describing sampling methods
• To describe the uses of snowball and self-selective sampling and their strengths and weaknesses
• To consider the role of key informants in accessing samples.
