(2020). I ragazzi di Saverio Strati. Un percorso fra emigrazione e lavoro [journal article - articolo]. In NUOVA SECONDARIA. Retrieved from http://hdl.handle.net/10446/175479
abstract:
The essay wants to deepen the issue of emigration starting from an analysis of the works of Saverio Strati, a Calabrian writer born in 1924, who was himself an emigrant. Through the narration of the young protagonists of his novels, Strati addresses this theme with a realism which is social denunciation, but which is also permeated with peasant wisdom. In a society, like that of the second half of the twentieth century, increasingly fascinated by consumerism, Strati tells of southern boys torn between the desire to return to their homeland and the refusal of a society that remains immobile. So, the world that this writer tells us takes on the features of hell, but a hell in which according to Strati children can learn to become men, in a
training process that can only start from work.
