The essay focuses on Mounier’s personalist idea of community. This paper deals with the concept of person from a pedagogical point of view and analyses the distinction between private and public, than proposes to reflect on the notions of “participation” and “personal engage”. Concerning education, the main purpose of this essay is to propose the construction of a “citizenship education” based on the work of Emmanuel Mounier.
