Editoria introduction to the special issue on supply chain management

This paper introduces the special issue of the Journal of Purchasing and Supply Management dedicated to Supply Chain Management. This introduction explains that the special issue contains a selection of some of the best papers of the first EUROMA-POMS Joint International Conference organized by Politecnico di Milano and Universita` di Padova, on June 16th–18th 2003. The conference was held in Como, Italy and hosted 447 participants. The selection of papers provided in this special issue covers a broad span of topics. In particular, the articles contribute to several relevant issues in supply chain management: suppliers and business relationships, international manufacturing networks; e-procurement strategy, and relations between context and integrative practices.
