abstract:
n the democratic Italy, the problem of the people it is placed at the center of the reflections on the education and of the teacher's expirience. With the case of Don Milani we enter a different context compared to the authors so far treated. The people of Don Milani are in fact above all else "creature" of God, whose form has disappeared under the burden of centuries of exploitation and injustice. The school is assigned the task of bringing this form to light, while the priest-teacher has the task of providing the linguistic tools so that the people can take part in the life that awaits them at the height of the page of history that the time is about. to turn. Full of prophetic resonances, Don Milani's discourse on education moves, between Esperienze pastorali and Lettera a una professoressa, along a path that accompanies the history of Christianity in Italy outside the ideological frameworks of the Church of Pius XII, meeting the great transformations that the Country lives at the turn of the sixties. With Don Milani the period of post-war democratic pedagogy also closes, which had entrusted the school not only with the task of facilitating the entry of the masses into the State, but, precisely with Don Milani, it had conceived for the last time the idea of a general reform of the moral and intellectual bases of the life of the lower classes.
