As well as identifying new terminological creations, we examine how polylexical terminology is
articulated between specialized and general language on the one hand, and its educated or colloquial
nature on the other. The framework chosen is scientific phraseology in the field of accounting. It is
necessary to obtain a picture of a terminological usage by systematic research, which is detected
thanks to the guided research on a specialized corpus and simultaneously on a general language
corpus. The experimental corpus, built by drawing on the ProQuest database, is combined with
version 3.0 of the automatic acquisition tool TermoStat (Drouin, 2003). The material collected
spans a period of time from 1999 to 2016. The results of the extraction are first sifted in order to
identify a real terminological and conceptual salience of the data collected. The data is organized
based on where it has been verified, including in IATE, BelTerme, Lingua-PC online, TERMIUM
Plus, and the Grand Dictionnaire Terminologique. An additional criterion for selection is the
conceptual uniqueness of the neoformations thus detected, which necessitates the observation of
their syntactic and semantic characteristics when they coincide with natural language.
