The essay questions the myth of the so called "Roaring Twenties", which was actually an artefact of the post-war historiography in the Sixties, as T. W. Adorno pointed out, and reconsider avant-garde experimentation in form and space as an aesthetic response to the socio-political context of Weimar Republic.
