Apprendere l'italiano da lingue lontane: prospettiva linguistica, pragmatica, educativa. Atti del Convegno-Seminario, Bergamo, 17-19 giugno 2010

The volume gathers some papers presented at the biennial Conference organized by the Centro di Italiano per Stranieri (C.I.S.) of Bergamo University. The Conference, held in Bergamo in June 2010, has been devoted to the acquisition of Italian as a second language by learners with typologically different L1s or with very 'distant' socio-cultural and educational backgrounds. The interest in this issue arose both from its scientific relevance and from the difficulties these learners complain in acquiring Italian: They need more time to learn and often stop making progress despite the early onset of acquisition, the considerale amount of input received, and the length of stay. The issue has been examined from a threefold perspective, as a linguistic field, as a pragmatic field and as an educational field.
