The essay explores the epistemological implications of the rethorics of contamination in Marcel Beyers "Daeminenraumdienst" and aims at discussing the question of "topos" in contemporary poetry considering how the marsh no longer represents in this collection of poems a landscape to depict but is part of a poietic
genesis which undermines traditional poetic structures (including the lyrical subject).
