Francesco Politi traduce Friedrich von Hausen: tra estetica crociana e possibili reminiscenze lirico-letterarie italiane

This essay analyses the Italian translations of two Lieder composed by the Minnesänger Friedrich von Hausen, which the translator, poet and Germanist Francesco Politi rendered into Italian in the 1930s-1940s. This study aims to highlight the influence of Benedetto Croce’s aesthetic theories on the translation of poetic texts, alongside some potential echoes of the Italian literary tradition, both of which may have contributed to shaping Politi’s translating choices.
