Paesaggi performat(t)ivi nel “teatro” di Rimini Protokoll

Rimini Protokoll, a theatre collective founded in Germany more than twenty years ago and now world-famous, has been able to give new impetus to the (German, but not only) theatrical practice of the third millennium by experimenting with different types of “performa(c)tive” and site-specific theatre; specifically, its works have often transcended the boundaries of theatre-buildings, plunging “actors” and “spectators” in
real landscapes. The paper therefore proposes to trace – starting from the first works set in the urban landscape such as Sonde Hannover (2002) and especially the “itinerant” and interactive performance Call Cutta
(since 2005), up to the most recent Shared Landscapes – the poetic, aesthetic (and ethical) trajectory of approach to the landscape described by Rimini Protokoll in its first two decades of activity, seeking to enucleate
specificities and continuities as well as of fracture and/or evolution
