Bernardino Zendrini critico

Chapter
Publication Date:
2025
Short description:
(2025). Bernardino Zendrini critico . Retrieved from https://hdl.handle.net/10446/319167
abstract:
The essay typologically catalogues and analyses the critical contributions of Bernardino Zendrini, considering them an important part of his work and a fundamental key to better understand and frame his work as a translator and poet. The essays on Ariosto, Petrarca and Meli are then examined; the reviews dedicated to Giulio Cesare by Rovani and Nerone by Cossa; and finally, the Prelezione to the course of Italian Literature held in Palermo in 1876. An overall look at all these texts not only offers significant testimony to the literary tastes and aesthetic sensitivity of an era and of one of its not secondary exponents, but also fulfills a clarifying function for Zendrini himself on the meaning and role of poetry in general and his own in particular.
