abstract:
This chapter analyzes the internationalization of production by Italian companies in Latin America and the Caribbean. To that end it is divided into two sections. The first examines Italy's position in international markets in terms of sales and capital flows. The aim is to provide a macroeconomic picture of the internationalization process pursued by Italian companies, and to describe the background to Italian foreign direct investment (FDI) in the broader process of globalization at the international and European levels. The second section looks at the international development patterns adopted by a number of Italian companies in the Latin America market.
