abstract:
The paper reflects on the challenge put by homoparental families to traditional role divisions between the wife-mother woman and the husband-father man. These roles are traditionally explained as oriented by gender belongings, strict defined and, most of all, necessarily complementary. These families share projects and original filiation experiences; they highlight that parenthood bonds don’t come from biological procreation, but they especially concern taking responsibility towards boys and girls. Homoparenthood becomes an opportunity of going beyond oppression from a privileged point of view. However these parents feel difficulties and pain (options and legatures – Dahrendorf) due to a widespread homophobia, a lack of civil rights and the absence of specific patterns of behaviour.
