Mario Lavella is Associate Professor in machine design at Università degli Studi Bergamo, Department of Management, Information and Production Engineering (DIGIP). Early position were Assistant Professor and researcher at Politecnico di Torino, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (DIMEAS). He involved in many research projects focused on aircraft engine and turbine founded by European and Italian institutions and important international companies. Research experience: - Contact mechanics, tribology and fatigue, particularly fretting damage and contact parameters measurements; - Residual stresses state measurements by X-ray diffraction; - Materials modelling using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of materials behaviour and processes (heat treatment, thermo-chemical treatment, welding and forming).
Teaching activities at Università degli Studi Bergamo: professor of Machine Design and Delegate for Services for Disabilities and Specific Learning Disorders at the School of Engineering. Other teaching activities at Politecnico di Torino and Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent.
Educational: PhD in Metallurgical Engineering and MS Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Automotive at Politecnico di Torino.
