Syllabus

Course Objectives

To know the structure of the new Individualised Education Plan (IEP) based on the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF).


Course Prerequisites

The laboratory is strictly connected to the teaching course "Didactics of inclusion".


Teaching Methods

The laboratory involves the adoption of a group-based laboratory teaching approach, with objectives identified and shared with students on a case-by-case basis in relation to the activities to be carried out, discussion among participants, and a concluding synthesis provided by the tutors.
The set of outputs produced by students within the laboratories will then be critically and summatively reviewed by the tutors during the final session, in order to provide an effective synthesis of the learning achieved and to foster greater awareness of the skills developed.

Assessment Methods

No specific evaluation will be applied, rather the effectiveness of the participation to the group work.


Contents

The laboratory involves an in-depth examination of the following contents:
- the main theoretical elements underpinning the new model of the Individualised Education Plan (IEP);
- the general structure of the new IEP model;
- the observational-descriptive sections of the new IEP model;
- the planning sections of the new IEP model;
- the observational tools provided by the facilitators within the T4 internship;
- the connection between the information derived from the observational tools used and from the IEPs of the children in the internship class/section, and the specific sections of the Learning Unit model to be used in the T4 curricular practicum.
Students are expected to be familiar with the ICF and its syntax.
