The aim of the course is to provide the appropriate tools for students to understand the relevance of the spatial dimension in education, not only in childhood but also in other educational contexts. In particular, the aim is to contribute to the formation of a basic geographical knowledge linked to educational activities in various fields, in order to acquire notions that are useful to the educator's profession and that focus on the importance of geography. This applies both to the ability to move in space, according to different perspectives, and to the existential implications of geography and personal and collective identity.

Frontal lessons, with the possibility to participate at open debates in the classroom.
Two intermediate exams will be held by the attending students. For the not-attending ones, the exam will be oral.
The course will range from questions of political geography to those of social and urban geography, highlighting the importance of spatiality in everyday life and in the creation of personal identity in a context of globalisation. It will focus on the relevance of the local versus the global scale and the connections that ramify between these two spheres in today's highly globalised international context. The nature and developments of globalisation in a context of crisis will be understood and, in addition, current technological developments, the use of AI and technology in education will be examined in order to understand their potential and criticality from a geographical perspective.
Different materials will be targeted for attending students (with at least 75% of presences) and not-attending students.
