Course Objectives

By taking this course, the student will have acquired essential knowledge of Boolean logic, information representation and digital logic, programming (in the Python language), and query formulation for relational databases using the SQL language. The student will also have gained familiarity with the history of computer science and the history of artificial intelligence that from it has emerged, and will be able to appreciate how the latter is rapidly transforming the former.

Course Prerequisites

Familiarity with the topics covered by the ICDL certification is suggested (but not required).
