In-depth knowledge and contextualization of the figure of Giuseppe Lombardo Radice, especially in his relations with Catholic pedagogy in the first half of the 20th century.
In-depth knowledge of the main pedagogical currents in twentieth-century Italy and good knowledge of historical events and the history of ideas in the place and period under study.
Frontal lecture, including reading and commentary on the texts of the main protagonists covered in the course. Discussion with and among students will be appropriately encouraged.

Historical and interpretative excursus on Lombardo Radice: biography of Giuseppe Lombardo Radice; relations with Giovanni Gentile and idealism; relations with fascism; relations with Maria Montessori; pedagogy of the teachers; the serene school; relations with international activism; Lombardo Radice's pedagogy, especially through the reading of his texts; historiographical interpretations on Giuseppe Lombardo Radice. In particular, the relationships Lombardo Radice weaved with the various souls of pedagogical Catholicism in Milan and Brescia will be analyzed in detail.
