None

Teaching Methods

The type of teaching is lecture-based and is characterised by the practice of inclusion and the active participation of students.

Assessment Methods

The learning assessment consists of a 90-minutewritten exam. It consists of three questions about the program that was discussed in class, with open-ended responses required. The following will be evaluated in particular:

  • knowledge of basic concepts;
  • critical thinking and methodological analysis;
  • personal elaboration of the topics discussed.

Contents

In a prospective framework that takes into account media education and visual cultural studies, the course explains the key moments of the history of cinema in order to contextualize the historical and cultural role of children - both as publics and as protagonists - in relation to films. The analysis focuses primarily on animated films that offer different constructions of childhood in terms of experiences, challenges and opportunities, with a particular emphasis on the relationship between art and cinema, in order to evaluate animated films as a cultural asset in a broader sense.
