Syllabus

Course Objectives

The course aims to provide students with a solid understanding of the most advanced digital technologies applied to the tourism sector, from Smart Destinations to Augmented Reality. As a practical exercise, students will use social media to create and manage a new online community for tourism with the aim of reducing overtourism in Italy. Students will also take part in a project work to learn how to manage and promote Tiktok, Instagram and Youtube channels, learning to use advanced text-to-video and text-to-speech tools based on generative AI to create and share thousands of short videos in different languages.

Teaching Methods

The main learning method is group work, through which students will develop the two project works of the course. Each group will be composed of 5 students, divided according to their linguistic knowledge to help them in the video translation phase.



Assessment Methods

The final exam consists of a written test of 20 multiple choice questions on the technologies explained during the course, with three answers for each question. The outcome of the test is not a numerical grade but only "approved/not approved". To be approved, it is sufficient to correctly answer at least 12 questions out of 20.
