Syllabus

Course Objectives

The course is aimed at providing adequate theoretical and methodological tools to understand mobility and accessibility as useful concepts to conceive tourism as one of the drivers of mobility flows that can be analysed at different scales. Furthermore, students acquire knowledge on the analysis of geo-database and digital footprints related to mobility in order to understand the different forms and needs of mobility in tourism. Case studies will be shown on the topic of tourism mobilities and accessible tourism.

Teaching Methods

Teaching will give particular attention to comparison and dialogue with students who will be able to formulate proposals for further study or debate. These lectures are supported by visual online tools, in order to facilitate learning. The presence of two professor, one from Unibg and one from abroad, will provide a co-teaching rich of different methodological approaches and cross-cultural experiences.


Assessment Methods

The exam takes place orally, through an interview relating to the two parts of the course that make up the teaching area. It ensures that the student acquires the notions imparted within the modules. Specifically, the exam verifies:

- theoretical knowledge of the concepts developed during teaching;

- the student's critical ability to apply them to specific cases.


Contents

Assuming mobility as a constitutive element of tourism, the module provides the student with the interpretative tools to understand mobility flows at different scales. In particular, knowledge is provided relating to mobility and accessibility with digital and non-digital systems and techniques. Through case studies relating to the national and international contexts, the student acquires knowledge of mobility in order to understand the different forms and needs of mobility in tourism. Case studies will be shown on the topic of tourism mobilities and accessible tourism.
