Overview

Date/time interval

Secondo Semestre (01/03/2027 - 08/06/2027)

Syllabus

Course Objectives

At the end of the workshop, students will have developed the necessary knowledge to reflect on the didactic transposition of some of the topics covered during the Complementary Mathematics course.

Course Prerequisites

Basic concepts related to the fundamentals of mathematics

Teaching Methods

The instructional methodologies will typically mirror those of the Mathematics Laboratory. Consequently, the sessions will incorporate:
- The use of artifacts
- Mathematical Discussion
- Analysis of educational websites
- Analysis of textbooks and educational texts

Assessment Methods

To obtain laboratory eligibility, participation in at least 75% of laboratory hours is required.

Contents

The content covered in the laboratory sessions falls within the core curriculum domains of "Number," "Relations," and "Functions." The sessions will focus on topics such as natural numbers, rational numbers, and an introduction to algebraic thinking, with particular emphasis placed on the role of language in mathematics (e.g., classroom discussion, mathematical argumentation). These laboratories will facilitate an initial reflection on and pedagogical implementation of the topics covered throughout the main course. Consequently, specific mathematical content will be addressed with a strong focus on its instructional delivery and the specific learning difficulties associated with these concepts. In parallel, appropriate teaching methodologies will be introduced to effectively manage the content and address any potential cognitive or learning challenges that may arise.
