abstract:
In a pop style, starting from the vicissitudes of TV series characters and recalling our heroines Chiara and Serafina, this short essay offers some reflections on the concept of sisterhood, meant as that feeling of mutual solidarity between women, based on shared conditions and aspirations, but also on mutual responsiveness, recognition, distinctive relationality. A pivotal bond that goes beyond the support between blood sisters or between friends, but which fosters social change, care for general relations, attention to the future of the Planet. The sisterhood set out as a model to women by western feminists from the 1970s onwards is now also offered as an opportunity to those men who do not want to settle for competition, prankishness, or camaraderie between males. Those who, starting from an inner analysis of their own positioning, are able to see themselves as partners and not as dominators, vulnerable (all of them) and connected, engaged not against but with women, in the care of personal relations as well as of social and political ones, and in the protection of the world that gives hospitality to us.
