Abstract:
This essay offers a new critical approach to one of the most controversial works by Gottfried Benn; it rejects the commonplace that "Dorische Welt" reflects the poet's affiliation to Nazi aesthetics and shows how his rethorics, far from stating a strict relationship between political power and art, aims at defending the radical freedom and Independence of artistic creation.
