Academic Position.
Full professor in the Department of Business Sciences, University of Bergamo.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Education Sciences (address Experts in Formative Processes) and PhD in Continuing Education Sciences (address Sociology) from the University of Verona in 2003 and 2007, respectively. Further education and Visting Scholar stays at the Séminaire d'Anthropologie sociale of the Université de Fribourg (2009) and the Institut des Sciences Sociales du Politique of the Université de Paris ouest Nanterre-La Défense (2012). Visiting Professor at the Université de Toulouse 2 - Jean Jaurés (2022).
Research
Her privileged research topics concern the sociology of memory and cultural trauma, with particular reference to processes of collective memory construction in crisis and conflict contexts. A second strand of research concerns the sociology of consumption, with a focus on the processes of symbolic production of consumption, the social practices inherent in it, and the interactions between culture and consumption. An emerging strand of research concerns community studies, with particular attention to issues of territorial development in mountainous areas and the logics of social interaction with a community and organizational matrix.
He has published articles in high impact international scientific journals such as Italian Sociological Review, Societàmutamentopolitica, Italian Review of Sociology, Ethnography and Qualitative Research. He is a member of the editorial board of Durkheimian Studies/Etudes durkheimiennes and Italian Sociological Review.
In 2022, he received the Special Prize Dolomiti UNESCO Foundation - Leggimontagna, awarded by ASCA - Association of CAI Sections of Carnia - Canal del Ferro - Val Canale Fondazione Dolomiti UNESCO.
Coordinator of several research projects funded under international (Interreg, Horizon 2020), national (PRIN) and regional (Cariplo Foundation, Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation) competitive calls.
Professional Activities
Former co-delegate of the Magnificent Chancellor of the University of Verona to the evaluation and impact of research (2018-2021) and deputy director of the Department of Business Sciences of the University of Bergamo (2023-2024), he is currently President of the Council of the Centers for Research and Third Mission of the University of Bergamo and referent of the ordering committee of the Master's degree course in “Welfare management and social innovation” of the Department of Business Sciences.
