Curriculum Vitae
Daniela Barni is a psychologist and Associate Professor of Social Psychology at the Department of Human and Social Sciences, University of Bergamo, where she teaches family forensic psychology, community psychology, and social psychology of adolescents.
She earned her degree in Psychology in 2001 at the Catholic University of Milan, where she completed her Ph.D. in "Person, development, learning" in 2008.
From 2015 to 2020, she was an Associate Professor of Social Psychology at the Department of Human Sciences, LUMSA University of Rome, and a member of the Quality Committee of the same University. In 2017, she obtained the national scientific qualification for the role of full professor in the competition sector of Social, Work, and Organizational Psychology.
She is a member of the Advisory Board of the Family Studies and Research University Centre (Catholic University of Milan) and the Scientific Committee of the European Society for Family Relations (ESFR).
She is a member of the Teaching Board of the Ph.D. program in "Human and Social Sciences" (ex "Human Sciences and Welfare Innovation”) at the University of Bergamo. From 2021 to 2024, she served as President of the Joint Committee of Teachers and Students of the Department of Human and Social Sciences (Unibg); she is currently the Research Coordinator for the same Department.
She serves as an Associate Editor for the journal Social Psychology and Family Transitions.
Her main research interests focus on family relationships, with particular attention on intergenerational transmission processes, critical transitions, and interventions for child protection and promotion of parenting. She is the author or co-author of numerous national and international publications on these topics. Her research activity has received several recognitions, including the International Cartagine 2.0 Award – Science and Research Section (Rome, Capitoline Hill, 2019).
