ANESA Patrizia

PATRIZIA ANESA is Associate Professor in English Language, Linguistics and Translation at the University of Bergamo, Italy, where she is also the coordinator of the programme in "Lingue Moderne per la Comunicazione e la Cooperazione Internazionale". She holds a Ph.D. in English Studies, with a specialization in professional communication. She is a member of the Research Centre on Specialized Languages (CERLIS) and an Associate Editor of the IDEA project (International Dialects of English Archive). Her research interests lie mostly in ESP and intercultural communication. She is currently working on the use of Extended Reality in ESP language learning and training and is the PI of the PRIN project “Enhancing ESP competence in professional and educational contexts via augmented reality”, 2023-2026.
Her volume Lexical Innovation in World Englishes: Cross-Fertilization and Evolving Paradigms (Routledge, 2019) has been awarded the 2020 ESSE (European Society for the Study of English) Book Prize and the AIA Honourable mention (2022).
