BERGAMINI Elena

Elena Bergamini received her Master's Degree (M.Sc.) in Biomedical Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano (Italy) in 2006, and obtained her PhD in Bioengineering and Biomécanique et Ingénierie pour la Santé from the University of Bologna (Italy) and Arts et Métiers ParisTech (France) in 2011. From 2011 to 2023, she worked at the Department of Movement, Human and Health Sciences at the University of Rome "Foro Italico". She is currently an associate professor at the Department of Management, Information and Production Engineering at the University of Bergamo. Her research focuses on the development and application of methods for quantifying motor function in humans, both in clinical and sports settings, with particular reference to the use of wearable magneto-inertial sensors. Elena Bergamini was a member of the Editorial Board of the scientific journal PlosOne and is currently Section Editor for the Sport Sciences for Health as well as Measurement journals (Springer). From 2017 to 2021, she was a member and Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Italian Society for Clinical Movement Analysis (SIAMOC), of which she has been Vice-President since October 2025. Since 2023, she has been treasurer of the IEEE Italy Sensors Chapter. Since October 2024, she has been Chair of the Course Council for Health Engineering at the University of Bergamo.
