Current position
Associate Professor in the scientific-disciplinary sector CEAR-08/B (Production and Management of Built Environment) at the Department of Engineering and Applied Sciences of the University of Bergamo.
From 2012 to 2023, Researcher at the same Department of the University of Bergamo.

Education
Ph.D. in "Architectural, Urban, and Environmental Design and Restoration" from the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning of the University of Catania, obtained in 2009.
Master's degree in Construction Engineering, with a grade of 110/110 cum laude, obtained from the University of Catania in 2004.

Teaching activities
Holder of the courses of "Construction Technology and Building Information Modeling" and "Building Ergotechnics" within the Bachelor's Degree in Engineering for the Building Industry at the University of Bergamo.
Co-holder of the technical module of the course “Safety on Construction Sites” within the Bachelor's Degree in Engineering for the Building Industry at the University of Bergamo.

Research activities
Research activities are focused primarily on the following topics:
- Responsive and shape-changing architectures.
- Tensegrity systems, reciprocal structures and origami-based systems.
- Automation for the construction of self-supporting masonry shells.
- Development of building components with shielding capacity from electromagnetic radiation.
- Realization of low-cost IoT sensor systems for air quality monitoring.
