He holds a PhD in History of Contemporary Societies from the Department of Historical Studies of the University of Turin, qualified as an Associate Professor in the Competition Sector 11/A3 – CONTEMPORARY HISTORY, and is the editor of “Quaderno di storia contemporanea,” a biannual journal of the Institute for the History of the Resistance and Contemporary Society in the Province of Alessandria. He was a research fellow at the Department of History of the University of Turin and the Department of Cultures and Civilizations of the University of Verona. He is currently a fixed-term researcher (RTT) at the Department of Letters, Philosophy, and Communication at the University of Bergamo. He mainly deals with the history of anti-fascism and the Resistance, with a particular interest in the role played by intellectuals. He has published Nicola Chiaromonte. Una biografia (1905-1972) (Donzelli, 2017), which won the 2018 Acqui Storia Prize and the 2019 Giacomo Matteotti Prize; From Beautiful Cities Given to the Enemy.
