BASSANI Gaia Viviana

Gaia Viviana Bassani, Ph.D., is an associate professor at the Department of Management, University of Bergamo and the vice delegate for the Third Mission Activities at the Department of Management. She is a member of the current Academic Senate.

Credentials:
Doctorate in Strategic Marketing and Economia Aziendale at Università degli Studi di Bergamo, Master’s Degree in Management, Finance and International Business at Università degli Studi di Bergamo.

Research:
Her scientific research predominantly concentrates on management accounting and control systems within private companies and healthcare organizations. It aligns with international research themes in management accounting, management control, and management accounting change alongside national research areas in cost analysis, and the culture of control. She aims to understand how these systems transform and how, in turn, they influence strategic organizational dynamics as well as the social actors and mechanisms with which they engage continuously.
Her research appeared in leading international journals such as Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal, Journal of Management Control, Public Money & Management, Accounting History Review, The International Journal of Health Planning and Management, Journal of Cleaner Production, and The Journal of Technology Transfer.
She is a member of the workgroup of Management control guidelines of the National Association of SIDREA (Società Italiana dei Docenti di Ragioneria e di Economia Aziendale).

Professional Activities:
She has developed corporate and regional research projects for associations and companies. Since 2024, she has been a member of the board of auditors for an international group.
